Extended Hours

Extended Hours Clinics for evening and weekend appointments:

We now hold clinics outside of our usual working hours to improve accessibility for patients.  We work alongside Buxted Medical Centre in order to be able to provide additional clinics each weekday and every Saturday.   Patients from either surgery can book into the evening and Saturday clinics at either site.

Saturday morning surgery from 08:30am - 12:30pm is for pre-booked appointments only. This is not an emergency surgery.  This clinic is alternated with Buxted Medical Centre.

Evening consultations - Monday to Friday 6.30pm - 8.00pm for pre-booked appointments only.  The evening clinics are shared with Buxted Medical Centre.  Appointments at Newick Health Centre will be Monday and Wednesday and at Buxted on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Evening nurse clinics - at Newick Health Centre we can now offer evening appointments with our Practice Nurses on a Monday and Wednesday evening , 6.30pm - 8pm.

Please contact reception for further information.

When We Are closed

Please dial 111 between 18:30 and 08:30 and at weekends or Bank Holidays to speak to an NHS 111 trained operator.   Please be prepared to give clear directions to your home if you require a visit.

It is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones

When should you call 111?

  • You need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency
  • You don’t know who to call for medical help or you don’t have a GP to call
  • You think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service but are not sure which one is most appropriate; or
  • You require health advice or reassurance about what to do next

The Health Centre is NOT equipped as a casualty station and does not have a doctor on the premises at all times. If you think you need stitches or have broken something, please go direct to a Minor Injury Unit at Uckfield Hospital or Lewes Victoria Hospital or if more urgent, the Accident and Emergency Department at your nearest Hospital.

If the incident is more urgent please dial 999 for an Ambulance.

NHS 111 Online

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.

Click here to access NHS 111 online or call 111 to speak to a staff member.
